Login Redirect using Social Login Widget

    Hi there!

    Thank you for doing what you do and help so many of us!

    I have an unresolved query from February 2018. Someone mentioned here that the login redirect feature was applied to Social Login widget and would be available in the next release. This is just a quick follow-up on the same, since I am unable to see the feature in action (Login Redirect Page is set to ‘Last User Page’). I use the social login widget in the sidebar of all pages and posts.

    Am I missing something here? Could someone please advice?

    Hi Abhijeet,

    Can you explain the case here with the issue? We have implemented the last user page changes in social login add-on as well. We are getting the last page using wp_get_referer() function which may be causing the problem for you.

    If possible post here the admin and FTP details so that we can look more into this.

    Thank you Stiofan & Patrik.

    So, I use the Social Login widget in the sidebar and when someone uses it to login, the person is redirected to the homepage (instead of the Last User Page). Would you like to test it? Here’s a sample link with a sidebar widget in action: https://www.backpackingseries.com/2017/12/30/the-least-explored-north-east-india/

    Were you not redirected to the homepage (instead of the Last User Page)?

    I tried it multiple times (with Yahoo, Facebook, Google) since reading your message and I continue to experience the problem. I am redirected to the home page, instead of the last user page. Is there something I may be missing here?

    Please advise.

    Hi Abhijeet,

    We have found that the problem of redirecting on the home page is due to the multistep authentication by the social sites. Due to multiple pages, our redirect_to parameter for last user page is lost and by default, we are redirecting on the home page. We will try to fix this in next release but for now social login with multiple pages for authentication, it will redirect to the home page only.

    Hi there!

    Thank you for the new release 1.0.14 delivered today. Curious to ask whether this Social Login redirect has been addressed in? I tested and it did not work. Since the changelog had a relevant line item (Redirect to Last User Page – Fixed) and wonder if I need to change any settings.

    Hi Abhijeet,

    The new release of UsersWP will not fix the issue of social login as it is related to social login add-on and not core plugin. We will update you here once we will fix it in social login add-on.
