Hi Patrik,
Updating the plugin fixed the issue thank you.
Regards,
DaleHi Alex,
It is functioning as expected once more. Rather embarrassing though.
These kind of errors should not be happening.
Hi Alex,
I notice this has been updated in the new release > “Account success email sent to user instead of admin – FIXED”
I’ll enable Admin Email again and let you know my findings.
Kind regards,
Hi Alex,
Unfortunately no 3rd party to have admin access.
I have for now disabled the Admin Email.
Please let me know when you have resolved the issue.
Kind regards,
DaleAwesome, Thank you.
Hi Patrik,
Yes you have mentioned that. i do not want to disable the notice though but after changing the password; – the notice should go away automatically or say thank you for updating your password (or similar) but it doesn’t. It just stays there making the user think that the password did not update.
Hi Patrik,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I have noticed that I can disable this but I believe it a necessary notification especially because the users login details (including password) are sent over plain text via email. This in itself seems to be insecure.
I would therefore still like to urge my users to update their passwords.
If this method can be improved somehow we’d all feel a little more secure.
So if the developers can look into his I’d appreciate it; – Thanks Alex.
Please follow up on their findings. ThanksKind regards,
Hi Guust,
I found a setting in my Security plugin. I checked them but missed a setting that filters suspicious query strings in the URL.
Apologies and thanks for your time.
Please mark as solved.
Hi Guust,
Thanks for your reply. I have changed the GD login page as not selected. (tested with blank page as well)
I am still receiving same error.
This reply has been marked as private.Just to clarify.
UsersWP sent an activation link before which included an activation key. This key is no longer being sent in the email which contains the password.
I suppose it is trivial to include both the key and the password but could be an added extra.
Hi Guust,
Thanks for your reply.
I have tested and the password seems to be generating strong passwords via Better WordPress Security plugin.
Many thanks.
OK thanks. I will create a Sidebar widget with links to the various sub-site profiles.
