Pulling my hair out on this one!!!!
I wanted a default avatar to be the same for listings that haven’t been claimed as well as users who hadn’t submitted an avatar.
I was able to change the unclaimed listing one by changing my child theme “none.png” image (not the ideal way as it does have potential of getting accidentally replaced). I’ve made a custom child of Supreme Directory (open to recs for better method).
I added a script to Snippets for a “Custom Default Avatar” and uploaded a new default. This is where I’m having issues… both with the snippet activated and deactivated, as well as changing the WP Discussion Gravatar settings, and various combinations.
– on the User Profile page I get no avatar, just “User avatar” alt text.
– on comments I get no image
Initially I tested by removing a user avatar, then created an entirely new user in case there was an issue with an existing vs new user. No changes between the Snippets script, UsersWP avatar setting, or WP Discussion avatar settings seems to be impacting anything.
My browsers are set not to cache and I’ve also tried across different browsers and logged in states.
Bug? User error?
