I’ve followed the instructions in the documentation and in the support topic here:
    https://userswp.io/support/topic/display-a-shortcode-in-profile-fields-from-another-plugin/

Unfortunately, adding a shortcode from another plugin on the user profile tab in UsersWP doesn’t work at all no matter what I’ve tried.

I’ve had a ton of trouble getting either the UsersWP plugin or the GeoDirectory plugins to work as advertised and after a frustrating back and forth with you guys over in the GD support forum, I hired one of your recommended “experts” who I now believe is conning me by taking my money, creating major problems on my site and not completing work that I’ve already paid them $500 USD to complete.

I need to talk to someone who can really help me and not provide incomplete instructions that are difficult to follow or requires the knowledge of a developer who can code to complete it. I purchased your plugins during the 2019 Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales and now it has been three months and I’m still no closer to launching my site. It shouldn’t take so long to set up a plugin!

I’m beyond frustrated with the lack of support and disappointed that I have had to spend so much extra money to get your products to work only to find that that still isn’t happening. I don’t understand why your products are costing me so much more to make them work than any other plugin I’ve ever purchased from other companies. I have really wanted your plugins to work. Please tell me how to rectify this situation.

    Hello,

Did you try adding a “Shortcode” field? See the image below.

Once added, you place your shortcode in the field shown in the screenshot.

Please describe exactly what you are trying to do.

What shortcode are you trying to add?

If you are still having trouble with GeoDirectory, we would be happy to help, just make a new topic at https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/

    Alex,
Yes, that is exactly how I’m going about adding the shortcode for a user profile tab. I’ve tried more than one kind of shortcode from multiple plugins and none have been successfully added thus far. You can see the tab created, but the content won’t auto-populate. I’d have never hired a “recommended expert” had I been able to do that myself without problem. Your expert even went so far as to argue with me about what was being done and that there was a reason I couldn’t do it on my own – so he could charge me additional hours for custom work. I think he purposefully coded something into my site to prevent me from being able to do it on my own.

Additionally, I think there is some kind of conflict with the WP admin user profile section. Some screens work and other don’t. One minute tabs appear in a profile and other times it doesn’t. I don’t know how to fix it all but really wish someone who knows what they are doing could investigate the whole thing.

    Hello,

What shortcode are you trying to add?

Please describe exactly what you are trying to do.

At this point I do not understand the problem and cannot provide you any advice about how to fix it.

If you can describe the issue we might be able to advise.

    1. I go into the same screen that you included a picture of: UsersWP>Form Builder>Profile Tabs>Custom Fields>Shortcode

    2. I click on the Shortcode button.

    3. I change the tab name and select privacy options.

    4. I paste the shortcode from the other plugin into the box that says, “Add shorcode here.”

In the case of the recipe plugin I’m using, I enter the URL of the page where the shortcode is being displayed ([my site name entered here].com/profile – which is the same default profile page assigned to UsersWP in my backend). I go back to look to check on the output and it isn’t there. Instead, I get a 404 page. (See all pics attached.)

I’ve been unsuccessful in adding a shortcode for the marketplace plugin I’m using which is what I hired your “expert” for. I am currently working on adding the Yith Wishlist plugin’s shortcode as well. I will know soon whether or not it worked, but suspect that just like the others, it won’t work either.

    Hello,

If the shortcode requires that the author ID is explicitly inserted, then it won’t work automatically. It may instead require custom code to create the integration. Without seeing the shortcode I can’t provide any more advice about it.

I attempted to upload the images for all, but the file sizes exceeded the limit. I’m trying to resize the pics now.

For the recipe plugin, it is WP Recipe Maker and the shortcode is [wprm-recipe-collections]. Here’s a link to the documentation: https://help.bootstrapped.ventures/article/152-displaying-the-recipe-collections-feature.

Out of curiosity, what shortcode would actually work there? I’ve attempted to enter at least 5 shortcodes from various plugins and none have worked. What’s the point of offering that feature if it doesn’t work as advertised. I initially wanted to use Youzer plugin instead of the UsersWP plugin for my site because it actually worked without issues but becuase it was slow and bulky and UsersWP worked with GeoDirectory, I chose your plugin instead. I am kind of feeling like I’ve wasted months of time and $700 on your plugins that have been a nightmare to set up. If your plugins require so much extra work and money to set them up then you should be up front about it. I didn’t have $700 to waste. It’s time and money I wish I could get back.

By the way, your expert charged me 5 hours of time to set up the login for your plugins that I can’t tell is actually even set up. Should it have taken 5 hours to set up just the login???
