    Hi,

I have this issue: before the weekend I added 600 members to a membership website. Most of them have business e-mails, so they opened the welcome message with the activation link on Monday. So many of those links expired. Now when they give it a try they see the message: “Invalid key.” on the reset page. Though technically correct this is very confusing. People think the are doing something wrong with ther password. I would like to change that message and also add a link to the “forgot” page, so they can request a new link. I there a way like a hook or filter to change the message?

    Kind regards,

    Michel

You can change that message using the language file.

    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply.

So there is no hook or filter? Don’t the changes in the language file get lost after an update?

Not if you place the edited language file in the correct spot:
    Point 9 of https://userswp.io/docs/translate/#need-to-know:
Finished translation files for plugins are stored in wp-content/languages/plugins/

    Thanks
