    Good Day,

I am using WPGeoDirectory with UsersWP to control login etc.

I have recently upgraded a 10 site multisite to V2 of Geodirectory and am going through some testing.

After signing up for a new account and logging in with the system generated password; – I see the Warning message that I am using a system generated password and that I should reset it of ‘click here’ to remove the message.

I reset my password with another strong password but the message remains telling me that my new password is system generated.

I can foresee that this would be a hindrance to my clients and a possible trust issue. Why does the message not say ‘Thank you for updating your password and continue to the Profile or Account page? …or am I doing something wrong.

I look forward to your reply.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

You can disable that notice from UsersWP->General->Change Password->Disable system generated password notice. Let me know if it helps you or not.

    Hi Patrik,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have noticed that I can disable this but I believe it a necessary notification especially because the users login details (including password) are sent over plain text via email. This in itself seems to be insecure.

I would therefore still like to urge my users to update their passwords.

If this method can be improved somehow we’d all feel a little more secure.

So if the developers can look into his I’d appreciate it; – Thanks Alex.
Please follow up on their findings. Thanks

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

You will need to click on the link in the message to disable the notice as it will be not done automatically.

    Regards,
    Patrik

    Hi Patrik,

Yes you have mentioned that. i do not want to disable the notice though but after changing the password; – the notice should go away automatically or say thank you for updating your password (or similar) but it doesn’t. It just stays there making the user think that the password did not update.
