I need your help and hope for a working plugin 😉

Wordpress (or the plugins?) just makes me a bit crazy.

Well, I’m a beginner with his first website, so it’s maybe just a little thing.

I have a german wordpress installation with nk youplay theme. Just a few pages and a blog so far and now user profiles and a forum should be added.

Due to provider limitations (no write-permission on .htaccess) I have to use the following custom permalink-structure: https://mydomain.de//index.php/%postname%/ (https is forced)

I have tried to install buddypress, profile builder and peepso before and none worked “out of the box”.

Then I installed the previous version of userswp on wordpress 4.9.3 and … wow …everything works fine!

But after the last update to wordpress 4.9.4 I got 404 errors on the profile pages. I am able to see the user listings (https://mydomain.de/index.php/users/), view and edit the account (https://mydomain.de/index.php/account/) but on profile there is a 404 “page not found”. Updated then to the latest version of UsersWP (1.0.12) but the error remains. The link seems to be correct: https://mydomain.de/index.php/profile/<username>/
The page “https://mydomain.de/index.php/profile/” exists with shortcode [uwp_profile]

Tried to remove and reinstall but that doesn’t help. Error is on existing and new users.

Other Plugins running (already tested with deactivated “Login with Ajax” and “WP Super Cache”:

    – Fast Velocity Minify
    – Login with Ajax
    – nk Themes Helper
    – PDF-Embedder Premium
    – Regenerate Thumbnails
    – Slider Revolution
    – UpdraftPlus Backup/Restore
    – UsersWP
    – Way2Enjoy Image Optimizer
    – WP Statistics
    – WP Super Cache
    – WPBakery Page Builder

    Kind regards
    Stephan

    Hi Stephan,

That is very strange about the permalinks, they should always work some way or another.

Please provide wp-admin ad FTP details in a private reply (onyl staff can see) and we will take a look.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Hi Stiofan, thank you for your fast reply.

Yes, I’m surprised, because before the update to wordpress 4.9.4 everything worked fine. And now only the profile page is affected.
Is it possible that I check something or send screenshots first, because I do not want to transmit credentials?

    Hi Stephan,

I have not seen this particular problem before so i don’t really have any specific advice, my only thing to try first is to save the permalinks under the WordPress settings.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    Hi Stiofan,

thanks, the pages are available again.

After saving permalinks the first time there was no change.
I uninstalled UsersWP, once saved the permalinks to default and then back to custom, reinstalled UsersWP and now everything is fine again.

So we can close this topic and i come back with a new one 😉
