    Hi there,

Testing out the UsersWP plugin, along with UsersWP – GeoDirectory and UsersWP – bbPress. So far so good, for the most part. For some reason though, after installing these plugins when I log into the WordPress admin, I’m redirected to the home page of the website. The only way to get to the admin is to manually add “wp-admin” to the end the browser url. Is this a bug or have I enabled this home page redirect behaviour?

    Please advise,

    T

I am guessing when you say “when I log into the WordPress admin”, you mean from /wp-login.php
If you log in from any login widget from the frontend, you will be redirected to the page you set at UsersWP > Login tab > Login Redirect Page
If logging in from /wp-login.php you should go to the /wp-admin

    Let us know.

What I’m saying is I login from: mysite.com/wp-login.php, then I’m directed to the front end of the website instead of what should be the backend. The only way I can get to the backend is, after being redirected to the front end, manually enter: mysite.com/wp-admin, then I see the WordPress dashboard. What would be causing this? I have no other plugins installed besides what I listed previously.

    Please advise,

    T

    Hi Trex,

I don’t think its UsersWP issue. Could you disable userswp and its addons, test it and let me know whether you still have that problem?

    Thanks

You are quite right, sorry about that. Apparently this is intended BBPress behaviour, to avoid users mistakenly ending up in the wordpress backend. Who knew? I suppose I can handle the extra click to get to my admin.

    Thanks for your followup,

    T

    Or you can always use

    /wp-admin/ for login form.

    Thanks
