Multis site installation and non-multisite installaitons crash when updating. Recent site https://whatshappeningtoday.com went down. I had to revert to prior version to get site operational once again.

    wp 4.8.3 Version 1.0.4 works

Version 1.8.11 displays an error on the admin dashboard “main site” dashboard whatshappeningtoday.com

    Hello!

Are you using WP Easy Updates?

You are talking about updating UserWP?

Would you like us to take a look? If so, please share your site credentials in a private reply.

I see the image. Here is what happened in sequence.

I “updated” the prior version and the site cratered with an error message. So, I renamed the newer version.

Then I reinstalled the older version and presto site back up.

Are you implying that I need to “delete” the prior version and upload the newer version in “updating” and not use the “update” link?

    Regards,

Not really, but having 2 plugins suggested that may be the error.
We will need WP login detail and FTP to better investigate. Please post them in a private message.

    Thanks

You should never activate plugins that depend on another plugin before activating that plugin first.
You had all addons activated, but not UsersWP itself.

    Thanks

Hello Guust. I am going to install, on a brand new install, the latest version of userswp plugin.

Next, I will begin installing the other plugins as required.

If I run into any problems, issues or tears.. lol.. jk.. I will follow this thread in response.

Actually, I will reply success or not so much.. kind regards,

    S Valencia

Success! Site did not crash. Thank you thank you.

Now, for the sites where it did crash.. What do I do now. Delete all plugins (deactivate) turn on userswp first and then activate or (reinstall?)

Meaning do I delete all the uwp plugins or deactive?

    Thank you Guust.

    Kind regards,

    S Valencia

Just de-activate any dependent plugins, then activate the UsersWP plugin, before re-activating the dependent plugins.
    Thanks

That is not the page that is assigned to UWP, these are the correct pages:
    https://whatshappeningtonight.com/register/
    https://whatshappeningtonight.com/login/

    Thanks

My bad. I thought the short code could be put on any page. Thank you Guust.

You can put it on any page, but you also select that page as the page to be used for that shortcode.

    Thanks
