Reset Password Broken

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    I’m assuming after one of the updates, as it was working before, the Reset Password functionality was broken.

    The Reset Password page redirects to the Account page.

    I’ve seen some of the other threads, so let me say that…
    – currently no security plugins running as this is still on staging
    – no new plugins added since this was last functioning
    – password reset page does exist, but can’t even be viewed outside of the backend Edit Page section

    Likewise the Forgot Password page also redirects to the Account page.

    Nevermind, realized I was attempting to view that page from a logged in state!

    The Reset Password issue though still exists.

    Not sure if this is related or a different issue, but Account Update and Change Password menu items now appear in the logged out state, which I believe they should only appear when a user is logged in.

    The “reset password” page can only be accessed from the link in the email that is generated from the “lost password” page.

    If you want to change your password [not reset because you forgot], you can go to the “change password” page while logged in.

    Okay, understand now….

    It would be helpful to add a note to the Reset Password Page tooltip that explains this, especially as there is a “View Page” button which also just redirects to the Account page.

    As these pages probably don’t get touched often, it is easy to forget.

    Any idea on why the Account and Change Password menu links show up when logged out or should I initiate another thread?

    I guess you added them as pages to the menu instead of UsersWP endpoint.

    Actually, I used the UsersWP Endpoints selection to add them.

    I removed them and then added them back in and it seems okay now….bizarre!
