Sort Users

    Hello,

    I have searched this forum and only found issues concerning sorting users by ‘recently logged in.’ I really need to be able to sort users via first or last name. This doesn’t look like something that is currently supported. It looks as if users are currently sorted via ‘username’? Is this correct?

    Would it be too much of an issue to add this functionality? I am very new to PHP or I would try to add it myself.

    Hello,

    you are correct, it is ‘not exactly’ an option, to sort by the first/last name fields.

    Currently you can sort by Display Name, though. So, if First name is filled and then set as Display Name, then it would be sorted accordingly.

    To try that, you can visit the backend options for users and set the first name of a test user to “AAA”, save, then set the display name to that value. Then go back and visit the list of users and when sorted A-Z that test user will likely be first.

    3rd party plugins are available to enforce a sitewide Display Name setting if that is the direction you want to go.
