When I disable the recaptcha plugin, I can FINALLY get in. The really weird part is that this doesn’t happen on Firefox. But it does on Chrome. ALSO, when I asked my host for help with this issue, thinking it was a host issue…they couldn’t duplicate the issue. But it happens on every device in my house.
And I’ve been going around and around for weeks with this problem. I log in, and it takes me to my account page. The top admin bar links won’t work. I cannot get into the WP dashboard or any of the links in that top black admin bar. But any other site links work fine. But any admin links just bump me back to my account page.
Now, if I switch to Firefox, no problem. OR if I dump cookies, no problem, I can get back in.
I finally figured out that if I disable UsersWP recaptcha that I can solve the problem, but I cannot have no recaptcha on my site. That’s unacceptable. The other plugins don’t seem to work on UsersWP login?
So what is the solution here?
Here is a link to a video capture of the issue in action:
https://www.loom.com/share/d1c804d09c16470a84abb7d7f49a4d0dOctober 8, 2019 at 4:01 am #5443I have changed your caching settings to prevent caching for logged in users, and also to prevent the login page.
Please test and let us know.
ThanksOctober 8, 2019 at 5:44 pm #5445The problem is actually back. Did you log in via site admin? I see you registered as a subscriber but that wouldn’t give you admin access…but I know I’ve posted (privately) my admin login before… I’m guessing you were the one that reactivated the recaptcha and that is why the problem is back? Trying to figure out how the recaptcha was reactivated because I’m pretty sure I didn’t reactivate it.

I was able to login with the admin credentials. It might be possible that Google is not validating the Recaptcha based on its algorithms. You may try to use invisible ReCaptcha or V3 and check if it works for you or not.

PatrikOctober 12, 2019 at 12:03 am #5459Ok I went in to try to do that and discovered that I am getting an error message on the UsersWP recaptcha extension:
“Something went wrong! : Download failed. Not Found”
I uninstalled and tried to reinstall and it’s not there. I am trying through the UsersWP/Extensions menu.
It’s gone? The problem is gone too. But I no longer have a working recaptcha.
October 12, 2019 at 12:59 am #5460You will have to download the plugin from https://userswp.io/your-account/ again.
ThanksOctober 12, 2019 at 4:52 am #5461Ok, I’ll look into that, but I thought I should let you know that the problem is back. Apparently it had NOT actually gone away with the deletion of recaptcha. SIGH. I swear this is going to drive me to an early grave. This has been vexing me for WEEKS now, and nothing has worked!
October 12, 2019 at 5:32 am #5462Please ask your host how to clear the server side cache.
October 12, 2019 at 5:34 am #5463I reinstalled it as was, and de-activated some options in GD recaptcha which are not required if using UWP recaptcha for the same pages.
I cannot recreate it.
Try deleting all your browser history and cookies and files, and if you are logging into Chrome with your gmail account, log out first. It really seems to be a local problem for you. Have you tried on another computer?
October 12, 2019 at 10:47 pm #5464I can tell you right now that it WILL work once I dump cookies, since that’s one of 2 things that works to get me in temporarily. And then next time I go back, I have the same problem again.
I just went to my mom’s house, miles away, totally different WiFi. Same problem. 🙁
It does this on every computer and device in the house, and apparently even outside my house.

But not on mine or Patrik’s …
Have you tried changing to V3 or Invisible?
You will need new keys for that.I will leave this to Patrik to look at after the weekend.
Thanks
October 13, 2019 at 2:04 am #5466Is this relevant? I noticed that the SSL is missing on the login page ONLY. Why would that be? I thought it should be applied across the entire domain?
October 13, 2019 at 2:16 am #5467Might be relevant, because that is fine for me, so that suggests it may be something local.
You have a number of Google warnings (but not errors) in the console:
