There is now way to do this through UWP, but there are many other solutions via plugin or things like CloudFlare what let you do this.
We do have a plugin that lets you have to approve user registrations:

And one for blocking offensive names or even whole email domains:

We have a plan to make this also a paid roles addon so we don’t want to release and then have to change it after, it might be a few weeks before this is released.

There was a change in WP 4.8.3 to the prepare function, i will look into it now to see if its something we need to change at out end.

Can you try checking the setting of the fields in the form builder, make sure they are active and not set to private.
If you still have problems please post wp-admin details in a private reply (only staff can see) and we will take a look.

This reply has been marked as private.Something else must be using the account page, i created a new account page and renamed the old one “Account old” and it now all works, but i’m not sure what else was using that old page id.

If you provide wp-admin details we will take a look at your setting to see if we can spot anything. You can set your reply private and only staff will be able to view it.
