Hello,

I got this error: “Something went wrong when sending email. Please contact site admin.”

This error is displayed when someone registers on the site. Note that the account is still created!

My email address in general settings is the same as my domain, and SMTP settings works fine. I also have the debug of WordPress but I do not have more detail.

    How fix that please.. THX

Hi, we’re using UsersWP alongside GeoDirectory.

When a user attempts to register for the directory they receive the above error message. Their registration is still successful, however they do not receive any registration email.

If they log in using their supplied credentials, they can add a GD listing without issue and they receive emails no problem, therefore emails are being successfully sent.

I’ve checked the server error logs and cannot see any mail related issues.

    Any ideas please?

    Hello..

I am a “rookie” when it comes to webdesign.. I have created a website and I am using this add on for registration.

When i test it, everything looks like it works except I get a

“Error: Something went wrong when sending email. Please contact site admin.”

    Message..

I am sure it is something that I am doing incorrect.. Just not sure what that is 🙁

    Hi,

Can you please check if emails are sent properly from your website? If not then either use SMTP plugin to use your Gmail account to send emails or contact server support. Also, Provide temporary admin and FTP details in private reply so that we can do some troubleshooting.

    Regards,
    Patrik

On the staging site, when I have this in the forgot password email

Dear [#user_name#],
[#reset_link#]
Thank you,

[#site_name_url#].

I get an error on the forgot password form
“Error: Something went wrong when sending email. Please contact site admin.”

When I have this in the forgot password email

Dear [#user_name#],
[#login_details#]
Thank you,

[#site_name_url#].

The email sends correctly, but doesn’t substitute any of the login-details:

    “Dear Delyth Chandler,

    Thank you,

    http://bsgi-staging.core-clients.co.uk.

When I use the latter on the dev site, it sends the email and correctly puts the reset link etc in the email text.

    Thank you again

Please provide your URL and we can check on the user registration issue. Please reply with your site URL and WP Admin credentials.

In 100% of cases so far this error is because the sessions folder is not set and/or does not exist, and you should contact your host to fix it: https://coastradar.com/session_test.php

We would be happy to take a look at your settings to see if we can find the problem.

Please be sure to have completed all the steps for configuration, and do check to see that your plugins are all up to date.

    Hi,
i have a problem with the registration form. Clicking on “create account”, returns me an error “Something went wrong when sending email. Please contact site admin.” The system send an e-mail to admin with no detail inside and the new account has not been created. We use the recaptcha of userswp for registration and login, and the “geodirectory recaptcha plugin” only for comments. What wrong? The others e-mail (send to a friend, send an enquiry, etc.) works fine…
    Thanks in advance
