UsersWP replaces the WordPress avatar with the user’s uploaded profile picture on the front end, so comments, GeoDirectory reviews and any other place that uses the standard WordPress avatar should show it. If they still show a Gravatar or the default image, the override has been switched off.
- Go to UsersWP > General > Developer.
- Make sure Disable Avatar Override? is not ticked.
- Save, clear any page cache and reload the page with the comments.
Also check Settings > Discussion and make sure Show Avatars is ticked, because WordPress hides all avatars in comments when it is off.
Why the admin shows a different picture
UsersWP leaves the avatar alone inside wp-admin. On the Users > Edit User screen, the WordPress Profile Picture field still shows the Gravatar or default image, while the UsersWP Account Details section further down shows the uploaded picture. Both are expected, and it does not mean the front end is wrong.
Still not showing
- If the user has not uploaded a profile picture, UsersWP shows its default avatar image instead of a Gravatar.
- Some themes and plugins print a Gravatar URL directly instead of calling the WordPress avatar functions. Switch to a default theme to test.
- If you moved the site to a new domain or to HTTPS, re-save the user’s picture or run a search and replace on the old URL, as stored image URLs can still point to the old address.
More about the avatar block is in UWP > User Avatar.
