UsersWP can send new users to a page straight after they register, but only when the register form also logs them in. Set the registration action to Auto Approve + Auto Login and choose the page.
- Go to UsersWP > User Types and edit the user type (each one is a register form).
- Set Registration Action to Auto Approve + Auto Login. The Redirect Page option appears below it.
- Choose a page, or Last User Page (the page they were on before), Default Redirect (the home page, or the dashboard for administrators) or Custom Redirect (any URL, entered in Custom Redirect URL).
- Save. Each user type has its own redirect, so different forms can send people to different pages.
Auto Approve and Require Email Activation
- Auto Approve: the account is active and the user stays on the register page with a message and a link to log in.
- Require Email Activation: the user sees a message asking them to check their email. The activation link then takes them to the login page.
Neither can redirect after registering, because the user is not logged in yet. If you want a confirmation or next steps page, use Auto Approve + Auto Login and redirect to a welcome page that tells users they are logged in and what to do next, for example claim their listing.
The old uwp_registration_force_redirect filter no longer exists. Auto Approve + Auto Login replaces it.
Change the redirect with code
Developers can change the URL with the uwp_register_redirect filter. It only runs for Auto Approve + Auto Login.
add_filter( 'uwp_register_redirect', 'my_uwp_register_redirect', 10, 3 );
function my_uwp_register_redirect( $redirect_to, $redirect_page_id, $data ) {
return home_url( '/welcome/' );
}
For redirects after login and logout, see Settings Overview for UsersWP > Redirects.
