The Notifications tab on the UsersWP account page lets users switch off emails they do not want. The core plugin has almost nothing to switch, so on most sites the tab only shows “You will see the options to disable the active notifications for UsersWP and it’s add ons.”
UsersWP add-ons can add their own options to this tab through the uwp_mute_notification_types filter, and those appear as checkboxes when the add-on is active. If none of your plugins add an option, the message is all the tab will ever show, and you can remove the tab.
Remove the Notifications tab
Add this to your child theme’s functions.php or a code snippets plugin:
add_filter( 'uwp_account_available_tabs', 'my_uwp_remove_notifications_tab' );
function my_uwp_remove_notifications_tab( $tabs ) {
unset( $tabs['notifications'] );
return $tabs;
}
The same filter removes the Privacy tab with unset( $tabs['privacy'] );. We have a separate guide for that: How to remove “Notifications and Privacy” from account options.
Change the message instead
If you want to keep the tab but word the message differently, translate the string with Loco Translate or a .po file. It is in the userswp text domain. See How to translate or localize UsersWP.
