UsersWP adds its own menu items that only show to logged in or logged out visitors. Add a Login item for logged out visitors and a Log out item for logged in users and, in the same spot of the menu, visitors only ever see the one that applies to them.
- Go to Appearance > Menus and open the menu you want to edit.
- Find the UsersWP Endpoints box on the left. If it is missing, click Screen Options at the top of the page and tick UsersWP Endpoints.
- On the Logged-Out tab, tick Login (and Register if you want it) and click Add to Menu.
- On the Logged-In tab, tick Log out, and Profile or Account if you want those, and click Add to Menu.
- Drag the items into place and click Save Menu.
Logged-In items are hidden from visitors who are not logged in, and Logged-Out items are hidden from users who are. That is why a Profile item added from the Logged-In tab does not appear until the visitor logs in. A Profile link added as a normal page link would show to everyone and lead logged out visitors to an empty profile.
The Common tab has items that show to everyone, such as the Users list page.
By default, Login and Register menu links open in a lightbox. To make them open the full page instead, see How to disable modal login/register for UsersWP navigation endpoints. The general steps for UsersWP menu items are also in Add menu items.
If you use a block theme, menus are edited in the Site Editor instead of Appearance > Menus. Add the UsersWP pages there as links, or use the UWP > Login block in a header template part.
