No. UsersWP does not send SMS messages or one-time codes by text, and there is no UsersWP add-on for SMS verification. Account verification in UsersWP works by email.
Email verification
To make new users confirm their email address before they can log in, go to UsersWP > User Types, edit the registration form and set Registration Action to Require Email Activation. UsersWP then sends the Registration activate email with an activation link, which you can edit on UsersWP > Emails > User Emails.
On mobile, users tap the link in the email just as they would on a desktop.
Two-factor codes at login
If you want users to enter a code when they log in, the UsersWP login form works with two popular two-factor plugins: WP 2FA and the Wordfence login security module. When a user has two-factor set up in one of them, UsersWP asks for the code on its own login form. The methods on offer, such as authenticator apps or email codes, depend on that plugin.
UsersWP has a Disable WP-2FA option on UsersWP > General > Login. Leave it unticked to keep the integration on.
Third party SMS plugins
We have not tested UsersWP with SMS or OTP plugins. Plugins that add a code check to the standard WordPress registration or login form usually do not hook into the UsersWP forms, so test on a staging site first.
